‘Create an Ad’ competition proves a huge success for 2017

CAA_Pyramids

Let’s Go! magazine is once again celebrating the success of our school competition ‘Create and Ad.’ The annual competition which  turns Wirral primary schools into Advertising Agencies and pairs them with local businesses was as popular as ever.  We challenged year 6 students at 11 primary schools to create an advert for their sponsoring company. Each student created an advert and a winner was chosen by their sponsor for inclusion within the magazine. Each winning designer received a certificate from their sponsor company and their advert was entered into our grand final, where an overall winner was chosen by a panel of advertising and design experts.

CAA_MerseyrailIn a close run final, our overall winner was Ella Winstanley, a pupil from Devonshire Park Primary in Tranmere. Ella’s advert for the Grange and Pyramids shopping centre in Birkenhead was ‘colourful, well drawn and carried a succinct message, highlighting the new and improved car parking facilities’. Our runner up was Faye Harrison, a pupil at Our Lady and Saint Edwards Primary in Birkenhead who designed an advert for Merseyrail highlighting its heritage. Third place went to Max Hall of Poulton Lancelyn Primary in Spital. Max’s advert celebrated the 10th birthday of Wirral’s most innovative party venue,  The Ladybugs Picnic.

CAA_LadybugsAs the overall winner Ella will receives a mountain bike, Faye receives a Personal DVD Player and a selection of DVDs and Max receives a 2 month family pass for bowling at the Bromborough Bowl. Each of the other finalists will receive a £10 Waterstones Book Token and other prizes from our sponsors included a Fit Bit Activity Monitor and Passes to the Ice Cream Farm worth over £400.

Congratulations to each of the 11 winning entries listed below which are published on the following pages. We would also like to say how much we appreciate the super effort that was put in by the 400+ children who took part and the generosity of the competition sponsors.
