The Grade II listed Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is home to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. We also promote a wide range of contemporary rock, pop, folk, roots, jazz and blues concerts and music projects, in addition to festivals and comedy.

Built in the 1930s, the 1,790 seat Art Deco concert hall also regularly transforms into a cinema. A smaller space upstairs, the Rodewald Suite, provides a cabaret style venue.

Our extremely active Learning department has been working with schools and the community through its orchestral programme since the 1940. We offer a range of inspirational opportunities to get involved in live music-making of the highest quality for thousands of people every year, and learning events for all ages from 3 years to adults.

“The stars of the show had to be the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir, a quite exceptionally talented ensemble”  Liverpool Daily Post

Liverpool Philharmonic provides a range of ways for children and young people to get involved in live music and music making, whether for the first time with your family, school, youth or community group and through our ensembles.

You can find out how to get involved in some of the finest youth music ensembles in the region and how to get tickets to Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra concerts for as low as £2 if you live in Liverpool, with the Young Musicians’ Pass.

Family Concerts

Liverpool Philharmonic Family Concerts bring children and adults together to experience the thrill of a live orchestra. As well as the festive Frosty the Snowman concerts at Christmas there is a whole range of special families concerts featuring the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra throughout the year.

These one-hour concerts are a great introduction to classical music for children aged 4-10 and their families. Each concert has a theme and you’re invited to join in by wearing fancy dress. Fidgeting is allowed so come along and give it a try!

Children are invited to have a go on a variety of instruments from 2pm prior to each concert at our Instrument Petting Zoo!
